Upon entrance the house, a feature wall was designed to conceal the bomb shelter door as well as adding some storage space for shoes.

The open kitchen concept with a bar top cabinet uses dark a   nd light toned laminates to give a contrast to the black Quartz top. Simple black grove lines design on the doors add to the detailing of the cabinets.

Modern Style with An Elegance Class

Time for a new tour of a whole house revamp of a private condominium located at the central district of the island, so is you ready let us begin.

This condo is home to two professionals with their two beautiful daughters. The home space of 1650 square feet and it is composed of 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1 powder room and kitchen with a utility room that we will take a look at during this home tour.

Normally I start my tours with the public spaces or the common design elements that run through each space but let’s shake things up a little and start with the bedrooms. I want to take you on a tour of this beautiful master closet. It is sleek, elegant and designed in all dark wood grain finish and black tinted glass. There are compartment shelves for her collection of luxury bags as well as drawers on the opposite wall that takes care of housing other much-needed clothing items. Along the same wall as the drawers are rods that take care of the hanging items like shirts and suits for him. The other hanging area takes care of her needs in terms of the items that she needs to hang which are beautiful dresses and suits and it is enclosed behind amazing dark glass doors. The master bedroom itself has its own master bath which is light and luxurious in high end marble which goes all along the floor as well as the walls. The vanity is bathed in the white acrylic doors at the base and sleek black premium quartz on the top as a contrast in colors and then to really set the tone for modern elegance the whole bathroom is accented with stainless steel and chrome fixtures and decorative elements. The actual master bedroom follows the same sleek modern design in all white walls except for the amazing charcoal grey swirl accent wall which the bed sits against. By having a low fabric tufted headboard in a neutral beige the focal wall really pops and makes a statement.

The common bedrooms that are for the girls. These bedrooms offer the same nod to modern elegance but give you that pop of color that girls of any age need and deserve.

The last room is a working room for the home gentleman, which designed to suit his needs.

Now let us take a tour of the public spaces we will start of in the living room. The living room just screams clean comfort with its white walls and neutral sofa and wood side chair with a touch of blue, and you will not miss out the beautiful exquisite marble flooring with a book matched pattern marked on the centre of the living space.  The living room is also home to a round marble coffee table that is accented with two adorable brown plush children’s chairs around the table. From the clean and comfortable living room to the modern dining room the same feeling exists. In the dining room we have instead of a normal dining table and chairs we have a bar height island with cushioned stools surrounding it. The top of the island as well as the stools are black which is great for hiding a multitude of stains from anyone at any time. It also sits directly in front of a wall of mirrors which reflects the natural light from the window in the living room.

Not forgetting the common bathroom and powder room, tiled with award winning tiles.

The last stop on the tour is none other than the hub of any home whether you cook or not and that is the kitchen. As always the kitchen is a statement to the mix of technology and modern clean design. There is no shortage of high end and state of the art appliances from the double ovens to the built in refrigerator, which is surrounded by sleek cabinets and in contrasting dark grey and white.

Once again we have a beautiful mix of modern style with an elegance class and a great pop of color in each space. The next tour I am sure will be just as beautiful as this one and will show us once again high modern style at it’s finest.

Modern Luxury at Rivertrees Residences

This dual-key apartment has both the same design style and aesthetic running through the entire home. The studio unit is where the parents reside and the adjoining unit is a 2 bedroom unit in which the couple occupies. We will talk about and share the unique design elements and colors of both units as they flow one to the other in a seamless manner.
The marble and timber flooring that came with these new units was not only in great shape but also a definite plus in terms of the design style that the owners wanted for these two spaces. Another large element of these spaces is of course the eye catching feature walls and carpentry works that was designed and created. The colors of the walls for the most part are muted shades of white and cream, with a good selection of contrasting wood grains for the different spaces. There is a combination of light tone wallpapers as well as marble and some stonework used on the walls, which added luxury to the whole two units. The mix of materials is used in all neutral tones, which lends to a great transition from room to room. In the areas where there is not definitive wall separation, it is still a great color pallet that runs through each open space.
Another common or should I say uncommon element that is used is the application of black glass on the kitchen cabinet doors. This takes modern luxury to a whole new level. In terms of style, it is clean and elegant. The use of the color black which is not a normal color used in kitchens made it even more special. The sleek color and high shine of the glass gives us the look and feel of luxury and high-end style.
There is also a good mix of wood tones in the bedrooms of each unit. Fabric choices were also well thought throughout the spaces with a great mix of black, grey, cream and white.
The last major component in this space is the use of electronics gadgets. In the living area of the main unit, you have a LED television that is mounted to the marble looking wall surrounded by state of the art yet old school looking large speakers. In the master bedroom of the main unit, there is a surround sound system which has front and back speakers and a subwoofer for a complete sound experience. It doesn’t stop there. Right in the center of it all is a ceiling mounted projector which is shown on a screen that is at the opposing wall of the bed and is mounted from the ceiling with black out curtains behind. Another element that this master bedroom has is a gaming area within the master closet. This area while small is high on style and tech to say the least.
This wonderful two unit home is a great example of grand modern luxury in home design. It is a true testament to being able to combine tech and style and not miss a beat. This professional design was created using all of the clients wants and needs in the forefront.

When Two Becomes Three

Today we will take a tour of a completely renovated apartment, touched by professional hands from top to bottom and everything in between. We will take a look at what was done to each room and discuss what the owners wanted when they walked into their new space. This tour will go room by room and it will hopefully give you some ideas as to what you can do in your space.

This completely renovated home started off as any normal 2 bedroom home but it needed a change. The first change that was needed is to make this two-bedroom home into a three-bedroom home. The owners are a couple with a teenage son and they wanted to make sure that there was enough space for all of them to be comfortable and stylish. The design style is a unique blend of modern and industrial feel.

The living room is a great showcase of modern comfort. The first thing that you notice is the showcase charcoal grey wall that the comfy sectional sofa rests up against. Then your eye is drawn to the beautiful wooden bookcase entertainment unit on the opposite wall. This unit houses books, movies, and electrical components and a classic mix of decorative pieces strategically placed on the shelves for maximum exposure. Adjoining the living room is the kitchen and dining area. The long island unit in the spacious kitchen is cleverly designed to give the owners enough space for the family to eat, prepare a meal and even entertain should they want to. The washing machine is cladded neatly and hidden from direct view at the end of the island unit which gives a clear laundry section at the end of the kitchen, our laundry had to be industrial washing machine Australia one of the best brands on the market. The kitchen and dining areas are separated by a clear glass partition and the homogeneous floor tiles in two distinct but corresponding colors. What stands out at the kitchen area is also the pop of color at the bright yellow painted window wall which provides a great contrast to the rest of the neutral and clean space.

A very important area of the home…. Bathrooms! These bathrooms are a class in industrial design with the exposed pipe work. Can we talk about the beautiful stark white toilets, vanities and sinks with the shiny stainless steel fixtures matching the classic industrial concept at its best! Even though you have all these elements, there is no lacking in comfort and coziness in the bathrooms.

So how did 2 become 3? The designer makes clever use of the space by breaking down the storeroom and re-creating it into a bigger space to become a proper bedroom! This became the teenager’s bedroom painted in neutral wall colors. The room is accessorized by the furnishings which allows him to jazz it up in his own style. The guestroom is just as beautiful as the other bedrooms and can be used as a working area as well as a place for someone visiting. It was enlarged by reducing the size of the living room and rebuilding the wall to straighten it to a proper rectangular space. This room will give you a feeling a of great hotel but without the room service. The last space is the master bedroom. It is a retreat as I would like to call it with its great wood tones in the headboard and floor against the simple white walls. The master closet rivals just about any high-end boutique with fine carpentry wood-like laminate finished to give you a proper walk in closet feel.

This newly renovated home is a master class on the combination of elegant modern style and industrial living to give the owners a feeling of simplicity and peace that they will have for years to come.
